Our Vision and Mission
A strong and independent civil society is crucial to a dynamic and vibrant democracy. Third and Fourth Sector organisations play a central role in the strength and fabric of civil society through their diverse from and practice.
As a Community Finance Institution we assist these orgnisations to build financial and social sustainability thereby making a contribution to the strength of civil society. This means we:
- Seek to build the skills and knowledge of the Third and Fourth Sectors;
- Invest in the asset base of the Third and Fourth Sectors;
- Account for both the financial and social returns on these investments.

Our goals
We aim to:
Develop innovative social investment products
We offer investment products that provide sound, transparent investment choices for a growing community of Australians who seek a positive financial return on their investments while maximizing social impacts. Our social investment products contribute to the development of community owned assets, increase affordable housing stock, and capitalise social businesses.
Provide the Third and Fourth Sectors with access to a different kind of capital
Thanks to our investors, we are able to provide access to finance for organisations that share our commitment to creating a robust, equitable, sustainable Australian society. Wealth and assets owned through community organisations can be leveraged to bring benefits for everyone in a community.
Build participation and collaboration in creating a better Australia
We catalyse new projects and collaborations, bringing people, organisations and ideas together to create new opportunities by exploring the possibilities of using new and old approaches to repsonding to social needs.
Building knowledge and awareness of the role of money in society
We use our experiences to extend and communicate the body of knowledge and methodologies for using money and financial systems to achieve greater social good in Australia.
